AREAS (Academic
Relations between Europe and Asia)provides scholarships for students,
researchers and staff from the Asian countries targeted by the project
(Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Thailand,
The Philippines, Vietnam) in order to study, do research, training or teaching
at one of the European Partner Universities (Host
Universities).
Scholarships are
not available for mobility from Europe to Asia, nor among the Asian countries.
Selected grantees
will receive a monthly subsistence allowance paid by the Partnership for the
duration of the mobility period:

Included in
the scholarship, the Partnership will also:
-
pay for the grantees’ travel costs;
-
provide grantees with a high quality individual insurance coverage on health,
travel, accident for the duration of the mobility period;
-
waive all university fees at the Host universities. Participants at any level
will not be required to pay any fees to the Host universities. Exchange
students will continue paying their fees at their university of origin.
A wide range of programmes in different academic fields is offered by the different Host universities. Check the Academic programs section for detailed information on the type and duration of available mobilities.
Scholarships will be distributed on two cohorts of applicants selected respectively in the year 2012 and 2013 for mobilities starting in the same year. Staff mobilities can start at any time between 2012 and 2015. All mobilities must end before July 15, 2015.
