SIM-Richard K M Eu and SIM-You Poh Seng Scholarships, Singapore

Saluting their foresight, commitment and significant contributions to management development in Singapore, SIM launched the SIM-Richard K M Eu and SIM-You Poh Seng Scholarships in 2010 in honour of its pioneers, Dr Richard K M Eu and Professor You Poh Seng. 

SIM-Richard K M Eu Scholarship

Awarded for undergraduate studies

SIM-You Poh Seng Scholarship

Awarded for postgraduate studies 

Eligibility

• Open to Singapore citizens only
• Awarded for undergraduate or postgraduate studies at reputable local or overseas universities in the fields of Banking, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics and/or Technology
• Applicable to full-time and part-time studies
• Applicable for applicants who will be starting as fresh undergraduate / postgraduate students for the academic year 2013/2014 (Not applicable for students already in the programme)

Application Criteria

Undergraduate Applicants:

• Minimum three As at GCE 'A' Level, H2 subjects
• Polytechnic Diploma with a GPA of 3.5 out of 4 or equivalent
• An impressive community contribution and co-curricular activities involvement record
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

Postgraduate Applicants:

• 2^nd Upper Class Honours or above
• An impressive community contribution and co-curricular activities involvement record
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• A letter of recommendation/testomonial from current/past employers

All applicants (undergraduate and postgraduate) are required to submit an essay that comprises the following:

• Your professional aims or career goals
• How, outside of work, you have contributed and see yourself contributing to the community
• Describe a personal challenge that you have faced, how you met this challenge and why you are applying for this scholarship

Value of the Scholarships

Each scholarship is valued at SGD 100,000

Each award covers the full tuition fees capped at SGD 100,000. After payment of the tuition fees, the balance from the fund will be paid out as study allowance, subject to balance of fund and based on the following table for the minimum duration of the course or until the fund is depleted:

Selection Process

All shortlisted candidates are required to undergo an interview by the SIM-Richard K M Eu/You Poh Seng Scholarships Selection Panel. You will be notified in writing if your application is successful. SIM does not enter into any correspondence on the award of the Scholarship and reserves the right to vary the terms and conditions of any SIM Scholarship without prior notice.

Bond of Scholarships

There is no bond attached to the scholarships

Terms and Conditions

• Applications will open in March and close at the end of April each year
• The short listing and processing period will be held in May
• The scholarship interviews will be held and awarded in June
• Only shortlisted candidates will be notified
• The scholarship cannot be held concurrently with any other award or scholarship without the prior written approval of SIM
• Should the applicant withdraw from the programme before satisfactory completion of the programme, he/she will reimburse SIM the tuition fees, and any other fees and allowance that have been paid by SIM
• The reimbursement of the tuition fees, and any other fees and allowance must be made within three months of withdrawal
